Here’s what to expect from the Woburn to Wakefield Line Project in the coming week.
The project continues to make progress as excavation and installation of the duct bank continue along Albion Street between the Stoneham border and West Park Drive. This week’s work schedule will be Monday through Wednesday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.. As mentioned previously, the traffic management plan at this work site requires an alternating two-way traffic pattern facilitated by police details during work hours.
Additional crews will continue to address areas in need of short-term restoration at past work sites. We kindly ask drivers and those on foot to please continue to exercise caution when approaching these active work areas to minimize risks to personal safety, and to avoid any interference with construction.
Please note that crews will not be working on Thursday, November 26 through Saturday, November 29 as they will be observing the Thanksgiving Holiday. Construction is planned to begin again on Monday, November 29.
*Over the next week neighbors can expect to see:
- Albion Street between the Stoneham line and West Park Drive: Excavation and duct bank installation

As construction continues, please note that the Wakefield Police Department has the option to modify the traffic management plans based on their judgment and expertise, including street closures and traffic detours to ensure the safety of the general public. As always, police details will be present at our work sites to facilitate vehicle and pedestrian traffic management. Please continue to exercise caution when approaching these active work areas to minimize risks to personal safety, and to avoid any interference with construction.
